Movie Night with the Pirates

Tonight we proclaimed Movie Night. Thanks to "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" from the library and some mighty yummy Kettlecorn (in which the kids and the samples at Costco pursuaded me to indulge) we had a bit of a party.

It all started out good, everyone with their cups of corn, in their own spots. 30 minutes and a good deal of laughing later, all 6 of us were piled on the 1.5 couch cushions Noel and I were sitting on. It started with Noel, the anchor. Then me, cuddling up. The next one was a surprise. Usually it's Jesse that must be in the center of a hug or cuddle. This time it was Caleb. He's as tall as my shoulders. But he still fits well on Noels lap, and loves to be there. Then came Jesse, not to miss out on a good cuddle. Of course Maya is never far behind. Then we look for Elliot. He's hiding behind the couch, hands over his ears and a sheepish grin, a bit embaressed that we found him in such a state. All it took was telling him I had half a lap left, if he wanted it. It was one of those times that I wished I could take a mental picture and remember it forever.
We spent the next hour squished, and laughing our heads off. It all ended with a major booty-shaking dance party as the credits rolled. Those kids got the groove on! Pretty sweet night. And even sweeter that I'm sitting here typing, as Noel is putting the four rowdy ones to bed.
